Almarai starts distribution of food baskets to the poor and needy
Almarai Company launched a campaign for distribute thousands of food baskets to the poor and needy in various Saudi regions commencing this day Sunday. This initiative is an investment by Almarai of the private sector role in the service of local community in which its conducts business, and in support of the government projects to this end, and in harmony with Almarai’s strategy since its inception, based on approaching and interacting with all society segments in order to benefit the citizen in particular, and the homeland in general.
Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Almarai’s Public Relations Manager said: “What Almarai is doing expresses its commitment to its humanitarian values that remained always associated with its name since 1977”. A-Otaibi added that this project is one of the many projects approved by Almarai in its annual plan to care for the local community with all its segments.
It is noteworthy that in addition to its projects targeting local communities with care, Almarai also is active in supporting cultural, educational and scientific aspects in Saudi Arabia, though several initiatives that have received large attendance in Saudi locations in recent years. These initiatives primarily includes Dairy and Food Polytechnic, Al Kharj (DFP); and Almarai Sales Academy (ASA). Moreover, Almarai provides annual prized aiming to develop local communities, upgrade competition between Saudi citizens, such as Almarai Prize for Scientific Excellence under supervision of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Almarai Education Distinction Prize in collaborations with Arab Bureau for Education in Gulf States (ABEGS), and Almarai Award for GCC Veterinarian in collaboration with King Feisal University, Al-Ihsaa
