“Almarai” lectures PNU students
Almarai’s HR Manager, Aliyaa Al-Hawawi, gave a lecture titled “Working in the private sector: Opportunities and challenges” at Business Administration College’s auditorium, within the framework of ongoing cooperation between Princess Nora Bint Abdulrahman University “PNU” and Almarai Company. Al-Hawawi maintained that this step is taken under Almarai Forum activities, a long-term corporate program to localize food industry in Saudi Arabia. The programs aims to support and attract national cadres of university and institute graduates as a corporate social responsibility “CSR”.
The presentation addressed the importance of skills and self-development to meet the requirements of the marketplace, starting from career inclination and selection of the suitable job sector through search, information and field visits during study stage. She said that this could also be done using the summer and cooperative training and internship offered by the private sector as approach to the suitable position after graduation. The lecturer presented the criteria and mechanisms the private sector uses to select the proper talent and touched upon job development criteria that achieve personal professional success and organizational advancement.
It is noteworthy that more than 8500 Saudi staff are currently working in Almarai. The company owns several initiatives such as Future Leaders “AFLP”, GPT, Almarai Academy, and Dairy and Food Polytechnic “DFP”. Almarai got several localization awards in this respect.
