Almarai donates SR 100,000 to Distress-relief Campaign at Al-Kharj
Almarai Company donated SR 100,000financial contribution to the Distress-relief Campaign organized by Al-Kharj Governorate in collaboration with the National Committee for Prisoners’ Care ”Tarahum”.
This campaign aims to release the detainees in Al-Kharj Jail who are required to pay private financial rights.
Abdullah N. Al-Otaibi, Almarai’s Public Relations Manager, said that in the last few years, Almarai has been donating to the National Committee for Prisoners’ Care ”Tarahum” in several Saudi regions either by financial payments of the prisoner’s private financial debts in the regional and governorates’ campaigns or by continuous periodic support for the inmates’ families with Almarai’s food products.
Al-Otaibi added that the Company places contributions to charities and social committees at its top priority stating that the Company realizes well that serving and working with local communities is not a natural duty of businesses but it is a responsible sensing of the role of citizenship in the private sector.
Al-Otaibi maintains that Almarai does not consider social responsibility complementary activity of core business and marginal aspect required to build the corporate image, it is rather an integral indispensable part of the established corporate culture that is fundamental to Almarai since its incorporation.
It is noteworthy that Almarai contributed to more than 300 charities in 2018.
