The “Argaam Summit 2025” Awards Ceremony concluded yesterday evening at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh, where Mr. Abdullah Al-Bader, CEO of Almarai, was named “Best CEO of 2024.” This award is the first of its kind launched by the Argaam financial platform. The recognition is based on an objective evaluation methodology that considers financial and operational performance, the direct impact of the CEO’s leadership role, and the level of disclosure, transparency, and corporate governance.
Under Al-Bader’s leadership, Almarai has placed a strong emphasis on transparency and governance. The Board of Directors consists of nine members, including three independent directors, reflecting the company’s commitment to best governance practices. In 2024, the Board held five meetings with a 100% attendance rate for most members. Additionally, the Audit Committee convened five times, the Nomination and Remuneration Committee met twice, and the Risk Management Committee held four meetings. The company also issued four quarterly financial statements and one annual report, maintaining strict compliance with international accounting standards and local regulatory requirements. Furthermore, Almarai introduced a new policy code addressing sustainable procurement and anti-corruption, while training over 3,000 employees on integrity and professional ethics.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Bader, CEO of Almarai, stated:
“I am honored by this recognition, which reflects the hard work of the Almarai team and our collective commitment to transparency, governance, and sustainability. In a rapidly changing world, our corporate values and responsible performance remain the foundation for sustainable growth. This award motivates us to continue enhancing corporate disclosure tools and strengthening our credibility with investors, partners, and the wider community. We remain confident in advancing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by building a more efficient, innovative, and responsible business ecosystem.”
It is worth noting that Almarai has achieved 11 of its 2025 sustainability goals, underscoring its commitment to environmental and social transparency. The company continues to improve resource efficiency and focus on social responsibility programs. It successfully donated 2.5 million healthy meals, educated 250,000 individuals through its factory visit program, and improved the employability of 1,400 youth through the Dairy and Food Polytechnic.
