Today, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail Region, inaugurated the bakery factory and the expansion of the Almarai Poultry Factory (the third poultry factory) in Al-Shannan Governorate, Hail Region.
His Highness toured Almarai factories in the region, including the third poultry factory, which has an annual production capacity of 50 million birds, and the bakery factory, which currently produces more than 400 million pieces of baked goods annually, as well as the solar power plant, which produces 22-gigawatt hours/year.
His Highness was accompanied during the tour by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Hail Region, His Highness Prince Nayef bin Sultan bin Muhammad bin Saud Al Kabeer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Almarai Company, His Excellency Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and His Excellency MR. Bandar Al-Khorayef. Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, His Excellency Dr. Hisham Al-Jadhei, Chairman of the Food and Drug Authority, Abdullah Al-Badr, CEO of Almarai Company, and several officials in the Hail region.
Prince Abdul-Ezz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail, appreciated the efforts of Almarai Company as a giant in the food and beverage industry in the region and the world, and the growing role of the company in achieving the Kingdom's goals in food security.
Describing Almarai's inauguration of its projects in Hail, His Highness said, "It represents 100% nationalism, 100% economy, 100% industry, and 100% responsibility."
On another hand, Prince Nayef bin Sultan bin Muhammad bin Saud Al Kabeer expressed his profound thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz for his honor and the opening of the third poultry and bakery factory in Hail.
“These two factories add a new link to the national food security system, to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, pointing to the great care and attention that the food industry sector in the Kingdom receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his trustworthy Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect them.” Prince Nayef bin Sultan said.
“The total investments of Almarai in the Hail region since 2009 until 01March 2023 amount to about (eight and a half billion riyals), in chicken mother farms, broiler farms, poultry processing, and packaging factories, in addition to the bakery factory, and its total investments in the region will reach by the end of the year 2026 (fourteen billion two hundred million SR).” Prince Nayef added.
"The new expansion will add 50 million birds to the production capacity of Almarai poultry factories, bringing the annual production capacity to 250 million birds annually, representing (11%) of the poultry sector in the Kingdom, and (34%) of the fresh poultry sector." After a few years, God willing, the company's productivity will increase with the completion of the poultry project in Shamli Governorate with a group of other investments, to reach (four hundred and fifty million) chickens annually.” Prince Nayef added.
"The new bakery factory supplies the region and its environs with (four hundred and thirteen million) pieces of baked goods annually, along with the company's bakery factories in Al-Kharj and Jeddah that serve the Kingdom with a production capacity of one billion eight hundred million pieces of baked goods annually, representing a percentage of 56% of the total packaged baked goods market sector in the Kingdom.” Prince Nayef added.
And Prince Nayef indicated that the number of Almarai employees in the Hail region is currently about (six thousand and five hundred employees) at the company's site in Al-Shannan Governorate. The number will increase to (ten thousand, five hundred employees) upon the completion of the Shamli project, God willing, as Almarai continues to achieve the highest rates of localization in the Diamond and High Green zones.
Prince Nayef pointed out that Almarai Company established in the Hail region a station to produce electricity from solar energy with a production capacity of (twenty-two gigawatt-hours annually), which will contribute to the other station established by the company in Al-Kharj Governorate a few years ago in displacing (thirty-three thousand tons of energy). carbon dioxide per year), equivalent to the decontamination of more than a million trees.
His Excellency Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, congratulated Almarai Company for its growing role in contributing to achieving food security in the Kingdom.
"Almarai’s launch of a bakery factory and another for poultry to increase production capacity in two large sectors, in addition to the launch of a solar energy plant, and the company’s future investments in various food sectors are all in the interest of achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and reflect the leading role of the private sector in the food sector" Eng. Al-Fadhli said.
His Excellency Eng. Osama Al-Zamil, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources congratulated Almarai Company on this step, which reaffirms its national leadership and the comprehensiveness of its plans to serve the Kingdom, stressing that Almarai is a pioneering model as a giant food industry in the region and the world as a whole, one of the national companies that contribute significantly to Achieving the ambitious national goals of the country and strengthening the Kingdom's leading position in various activities.
Al-Zamil added, in a speech delivered on behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, that the food industry sector is one of the priority sectors in the national strategy for industry and the most important in achieving food security for the Kingdom, in which the food industry giant in the region and the world, Almarai Company, plays a pioneering role. And a pivotal role in developing local content and supporting local supply chains, and this sector contributes to the development of Saudi non-oil exports, which recorded an unprecedented number during the first half of last year, with more than 164 billion riyals.
It is worth noting that Almarai owns 14 factories for the production of foodstuffs, of which 8 are located in the Kingdom, while the remaining factories are located in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Jordan.
