Almarai played a leading role in this year’s “Recycle Your Device” initiative, held in partnership with the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) and the Ertiqa association. This participation reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility and its contribution to advancing digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and community solidarity. It also aligns with national efforts to promote sustainable practices and encourage the recycling of electronic devices, fostering a more circular economy in line with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.
As part of this initiative, Almarai donated a range of functional electronic devices. Under the supervision of CST, Ertiqa will refurbish and redistribute them to charitable organizations and schools across various regions of the Kingdom.
“Our participation in the ‘Recycle Your Device’ initiative reflects Almarai’s dedication to national efforts that protect the environment while enhancing individuals’ access to technology. It helps bridge the digital divide and supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in driving digital transformation and improving quality of life,” said Mr. Abdulrahman Mazyad Alhuwaifez, Public Relations Manager at Almarai.
“Recycle Your Device” is the first national program dedicated to recycling and refurbishing electronic equipment. During its first phase, it processed more than 840 tons of devices valued at SAR 105 million. Over 350,000 devices were collected, repaired, and redistributed, benefiting more than 120 charities and schools across the Kingdom. The 2025 phase aims to reach 100,000 devices, with more than 70,000 already collected as part of ongoing efforts to achieve environmental and social sustainability.
Almarai’s participation builds on its long-standing contributions to expanding access to technology and reducing electronic waste. In 2022, the company donated 240 electronic devices, including computers, printers, and monitors, to Ertiqa under the “Preserving Digital Grace” initiative, which refurbishes and redistributes devices to educational and charitable institutions. In 2021, Almarai also supported “Learn from Home” in Al Kharj by contributing SAR 100,000 to provide tablets for students from low-income families, which helped facilitate distance learning during the pandemic. These initiatives highlight Almarai’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and its efforts to empower individuals and communities through impactful programs aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
