Syrian Minister of Agriculture Visits Almarai Factories in Al-Kharj, Praises Saudi Model in the Food Industry

His Excellency Dr. Amjad Badr, Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform of the Syrian Arab Republic, accompanied by a delegation, visited Almarai’s farms and factories in Al-Kharj Governorate on Monday, 16 Rabi Al-Awwal 1447 AH, corresponding to September 8, 2025.

The visit provided the delegation with an overview of the latest food production technologies and systems employed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Badr and his delegation were welcomed by Mr. Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Balawi, Executive Director at Almarai, who accompanied them on a tour of the company’s dairy farms, production facilities, and central processing plants.

During the tour, the Minister and his delegation reviewed advanced technological solutions adopted across Almarai’s fully integrated value chain. These include the use of AI applications and robots for raw material handling and production line operations; advanced digital tracking systems across manufacturing and distribution; and electronic chips in dairy farms that record comprehensive health and nutritional data for livestock. Together, these innovations ensure the highest standards of animal welfare and product quality, reaffirming Almarai’s pursuit of excellence across its operations and fulfills its enduring promise of “Quality you can trust.”

His Excellency Dr. Badr commended Almarai’s food production model, describing it as worthy of study and potential application in Syria. He noted that such a model could strengthen agricultural and food-sector cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two nations, while also advancing collaboration in water resource management and enhancing food security.
