Honey and pistachio baklava rolls

A recipe that combines rich flavor and a crunchy texture

Ingredients

1 pack filo pastry sheets


1 cup pistachios, chopped


1/2 cup butter, melted


1 tsp ground cinnamon


1 cup Al Marai natural honey


1/2 cup sugar


1/2 cup water


1 tbsp lemon juice


1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
     
  2. In a small bowl, mix the chopped pistachios and ground cinnamon.
     
  3. Brush a muffin tin or small tart pans with melted butter.
     
  4. Place portions of filo dough in the tray, layering a few sheets, and spray each layer with melted butter.
     
  5. Bake the filo rounds for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
     
  6. While the baklava is baking, combine Almarai natural honey, sugar, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan.
     
  7. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
     
  8. Once the baklava rounds are baked, remove them from the oven and immediately pour the hot honey syrup over each round, allowing them to soak in.
     
  9. Sprinkle with crushed pistachios and serve.
