Almarai, the world’s largest vertically integrated dairy company and the Middle East’s leading food and beverage manufacturer and distributor, has launched its new brand “Trofos,” the first authentic Greek Feta cheese with a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) certification available in Saudi Arabia and the GCC market. The brand was unveiled during a ceremony held at Narcissus The Royal Hotel, Riyadh on October 15, 2025, in the presence of senior executives and media representatives. It marks another milestone in Almarai’s journey to provide authentic culinary experiences and world-class quality products that meet the evolving tastes of consumers across the region. Trofos is expected to strengthen Almarai’s leadership in the premium cheese segment in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
Rooted in the rich heritage of Greek cuisine, Trofos embodies authenticity and craftsmanship . The cheese is produced in Greece under stringent PDO standards that regulate the origin of milk and ensure adherence to traditional production methods. The result is a balanced blend of 70% sheep’s milk and 30% goat’s milk, offering a creamy texture and rich flavor that capture the true character of traditional Feta. With its naturally high-protein content, Trofos is also a nutritionally balanced choice for health-conscious consumers seeking a wholesome Mediterranean touch to their dining tables.
“The launch of our new brand reflects Almarai’s vision to expand its portfolio of high-quality products that deliver authentic culinary experiences. Trofos combines the tradition of Greek cheesemaking with Almarai’s expertise in delivering products that meet the highest standards of quality, delivering on our promise of ‘Quality you can trust’ for consumers everywhere,” said Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Bader, Chief Executive Officer of Almarai.
Trofos represents a significant step forward in Almarai’s strategy to diversify consumer choices and introduce products that unite authenticity, quality, and innovation. It reinforces the company’s longstanding commitment to providing safe, nutritious, and trusted food products for the communities it serves.
This launch also aligns with Almarai’s strategy to strengthen its regional footprint and enhance its competitiveness in the cheese category. In October 2024, the company announced an investment exceeding EGP 1 billion to establish two new cheese production lines at its Beyti subsidiary in Egypt. The move supports growing regional demand for premium cheese products and expands Almarai’s export capabilities. Together, these initiatives contribute to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing quality of life and developing national food industries in line with the highest global standards.
