Almarai is the first to get “Mowaamah” Certification
Almarai Company got the “Mowaamah” Certification (Golden Category) granted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development “MOLSD” for the companies and organizations that adapted their work environments to be inclusive and supportive to the Persons with Disabilities “PwDs”.
Fawwaz Al-Jasser, Almarai’s General Manager, Human Resources and Support Services expressed his delight for the company’s getting this certificate being the first in Saudi Arabia. He stated that certification is the result of the efforts and expertise of Almarai in attracting, training, qualifying, and developing workforce in general and PwDs in particular. This effort is accomplished by the cooperative work of concerned bodies including the Businesspersons and Disability Network “Qaderoon”, which comprises Almarai, some charities, Deputy Ministry of Social Development, and Human Resources Development Fund “HRDF”.
Al-Jasser added that Almarai employed some 380 PwDs; a production line is allocated to workers with hearing disabilities with all supportive means, and using the services sign language interpreters to facilitate communication with them.
It is noteworthy that Almarai currently employs more than 8400 male and female Saudi staff. The company owns some initiatives of job Saudization such as Tomorrow’s Leaders “AFLP”, Future Managers “GPT”. Almarai Academy, and Dairy and Food Polytechnic “DFP” in Al-Kharj, Almarai also devoted some production lines in its processing units all over the Kingdom to female workers. Almarai was awarded several Saudization prizes in this respect.
